This cheesy low carb Philly cheesesteak casserole brings all the savory, melty goodness of the classic sandwich in a keto-friendly format with no bread required.

- 2 lbs thinly sliced ribeye or sirloin (or 1½ lbs ground beef)
- 2 tablespoons olive or avocado oil
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon onion powder
- Salt and black pepper to taste
- 2 yellow onions, thinly sliced
- 2 green bell peppers, sliced
- 1 red bell pepper, sliced
- 4 cloves garlic, minced
- 8 oz mushrooms, sliced (optional)
- 8 oz cream cheese, softened
- 1 cup heavy cream
- 2 cups shredded provolone
- 1 cup shredded sharp cheddar
- ½ cup shredded mozzarella
- 2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
- 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
- ½ teaspoon dried oregano
- ¼ teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C) and grease a 9×13-inch baking dish.
- Brown seasoned beef in batches with garlic and onion powders, then transfer to a bowl.
- Sauté onions for 8–10 minutes until caramelized. Add peppers, mushrooms, and garlic; cook 5–7 more minutes.
- In a saucepan, whisk cream cheese and heavy cream until smooth. Add 1½ cups provolone and all cheddar, stir until melted. Season with Worcestershire, paprika, oregano, and optional red pepper flakes.
- Combine beef and sautéed veggies in baking dish. Pour cheese sauce over and mix gently.
- Top with remaining provolone and mozzarella. Cover with foil and bake for 25 minutes.
- Uncover and bake 15–20 more minutes until bubbly and golden. Rest 5–10 minutes before serving.
Notes
Use ribeye or sirloin for authentic flavor, or ground beef for a budget-friendly twist. Salt veggies lightly before sautéing to reduce wateriness. Pre-soften cream cheese to ensure a smooth sauce.
