Description
This raspberry lemonade recipe transforms ordinary lemonade into something extraordinary with vibrant color, complex flavor, and that irresistible pink hue. It’s the perfect summer refreshment for picnics, parties, or just cooling down on a hot day.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 cup fresh or frozen raspberries
- 1 cup water (for syrup)
- 3/4 cup granulated sugar
- 3/4 cup fresh lemon juice (about 5–6 lemons)
- 4 cups cold water
- Ice cubes
- Fresh raspberries and lemon slices for garnish (optional)
Instructions
- In a medium saucepan, combine raspberries, 1 cup water, and sugar. Bring to a boil over medium heat, stirring to dissolve the sugar.
- Reduce heat and simmer for 8-10 minutes, mashing raspberries gently to release flavor.
- Remove from heat and let cool for 5 minutes. Strain the mixture through a fine-mesh sieve into a bowl, pressing on solids to extract juice.
- In a large pitcher, combine raspberry syrup, lemon juice, and 4 cups of cold water. Stir well.
- Adjust sweetness or tartness by adding more syrup or lemon juice to taste.
- Chill the lemonade for at least 1 hour or serve immediately over ice.
- Garnish with lemon slices, fresh raspberries, or mint leaves if desired.
Notes
For a sparkling version, replace half the water with sparkling water. Raspberry syrup can be made ahead and stored for up to 2 weeks. Use frozen raspberries if fresh are unavailable.
