- 6 large egg yolks
- ½ cup granulated sugar
- 2 cups heavy cream
- 1 cup whole milk
- ½ teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 tablespoon fresh lemon juice

- For no-churn version:
- 1½ cups 100% grape juice (for reduction)
- 2 cups heavy cream
- 1 (14-ounce) can sweetened condensed milk
- ½ teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 tablespoon fresh lemon juice
- Pinch of salt
Instructions
- Simmer grape juice until reduced (¾ cup for traditional, ½ cup for no-churn). Cool completely.
- For traditional method: Heat cream and milk in saucepan until steaming. Whisk yolks and sugar, temper with hot mixture, cook custard until 170°F, strain.
- Stir in cooled grape reduction, vanilla, lemon juice, and salt. Chill at least 4 hours.
- Churn in ice cream maker 20–25 minutes. Freeze 2+ hours before serving.
- For no-churn method: Whip cream to soft peaks. In separate bowl, combine condensed milk, reduced grape juice, vanilla, lemon juice, and salt.
- Fold whipped cream into grape mixture in three additions. Pour into container and freeze 6+ hours.
Notes
Use high-quality 100% grape juice for best results. Always reduce the juice to concentrate flavor and minimize iciness. Add a splash of lemon juice to brighten taste and balance sweetness.
