  • 2 tablespoons olive oil or avocado oil
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon smoked paprika optional
  • Salt to taste
  • Freshly ground black pepper to taste
  • Your favorite sauce for serving pesto, marinara, brown butter sage
  • Optional: Grated Parmesan cheese for topping
  • Optional: Fresh basil or parsley for garnish

Equipment

  • air fryer
  • Large bowl
  • Spoon or spatula
  • Measuring spoons
  • tongs

Method

  1. Prepare the Gnocchi: Open the package of gnocchi. No need to boil it!
  2. Toss with Oil and Seasonings: In a large bowl, combine the gnocchi, olive oil, garlic powder, onion powder, smoked paprika (if using), salt, and pepper. Make sure each little dumpling gets a good coating of the oil and spices.
  3. Preheat Your Air Fryer: Preheat your air fryer to 400°F (200°C) for 3-5 minutes.
  4. Arrange in the Air Fryer Basket: Place the gnocchi in a single layer in the air fryer basket. Don't overcrowd the basket. Cook in batches if necessary.
  5. Air Fry to Perfection: Air fry for 8-12 minutes, flipping halfway through, until golden brown and crispy. Keep a close eye on them, as air fryers can vary.
  6. Serve Immediately: Remove the crispy gnocchi from the air fryer and serve immediately with your favorite sauce.

Notes

For extra crispy gnocchi, ensure they are completely dry before tossing with oil and seasonings. Don't overcrowd the air fryer basket; cook in batches if necessary. Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 2-3 days. Reheat in the air fryer for a minute or two to re-crisp. Experiment with different seasonings like Italian seasoning, red pepper flakes, or everything bagel seasoning. Consider serving with brown butter sage sauce, creamy Gorgonzola, pesto, spicy Arrabbiata, or a creamy tomato sauce.
