Ingredients

  • 2-4 Salmon fillets 6-8 oz each
  • 1/4 cup Pure maple syrup
  • 2 tablespoons Low-sodium soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon Dijon mustard
  • 2 cloves Garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon Lemon juice
  • 1 tablespoon Olive oil
  • Salt, to taste
  • Black pepper, to taste
  • Optional garnishes: Fresh parsley, chopped
  • Optional garnishes: Fresh chives, chopped
  • Optional garnishes: Sesame seeds

Equipment

  • air fryer
  • small bowl
  • shallow dish or ziplock bag
  • whisk
  • Measuring spoons
  • Measuring cups
  • Meat thermometer (optional)
  • Cooking spray or parchment paper

Method

  1. In a small bowl, whisk together the maple syrup, soy sauce, Dijon mustard, minced garlic, lemon juice, and olive oil until well combined.
  2. Place the salmon fillets in a shallow dish or ziplock bag.
  3. Pour the marinade over the salmon, making sure to coat each fillet evenly.
  4. Marinate the salmon for at least 15 minutes, or up to 30 minutes in the refrigerator.
  5. Preheat your air fryer to 400°F (200°C) for 5 minutes.
  6. Lightly grease the air fryer basket with cooking spray or line it with parchment paper to prevent sticking.
  7. Carefully place the salmon fillets in the air fryer basket, skin-side down if using skin-on fillets. Be sure not to overcrowd the basket; you may need to cook the salmon in batches.
  8. Air fry for 8-12 minutes, or until the salmon is cooked through and flakes easily with a fork. The internal temperature of the salmon should reach 145°F (63°C).
  9. Remove the salmon from the air fryer and garnish with fresh parsley, chives, or sesame seeds, if desired.
  10. Serve immediately and enjoy!

Notes

For best results, use high-quality maple syrup and fresh ingredients. Pat the salmon dry before marinating to ensure better marinade adhesion and a crispier exterior. Do not overcrowd the air fryer basket to allow for even cooking. Cooked salmon can be stored in the refrigerator for up to 3 days; reheat gently in the air fryer or microwave. For a spicier version, add a pinch of red pepper flakes to the marinade. Serve with rice, roasted vegetables, or a fresh salad for a complete meal.
