Method
- In a small bowl, whisk together the maple syrup, soy sauce, Dijon mustard, minced garlic, lemon juice, and olive oil until well combined.
- Place the salmon fillets in a shallow dish or ziplock bag.
- Pour the marinade over the salmon, making sure to coat each fillet evenly.
- Marinate the salmon for at least 15 minutes, or up to 30 minutes in the refrigerator.
- Preheat your air fryer to 400°F (200°C) for 5 minutes.
- Lightly grease the air fryer basket with cooking spray or line it with parchment paper to prevent sticking.
- Carefully place the salmon fillets in the air fryer basket, skin-side down if using skin-on fillets. Be sure not to overcrowd the basket; you may need to cook the salmon in batches.
- Air fry for 8-12 minutes, or until the salmon is cooked through and flakes easily with a fork. The internal temperature of the salmon should reach 145°F (63°C).
- Remove the salmon from the air fryer and garnish with fresh parsley, chives, or sesame seeds, if desired.
- Serve immediately and enjoy!
Notes
For best results, use high-quality maple syrup and fresh ingredients. Pat the salmon dry before marinating to ensure better marinade adhesion and a crispier exterior. Do not overcrowd the air fryer basket to allow for even cooking. Cooked salmon can be stored in the refrigerator for up to 3 days; reheat gently in the air fryer or microwave. For a spicier version, add a pinch of red pepper flakes to the marinade. Serve with rice, roasted vegetables, or a fresh salad for a complete meal.
