Method
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Line a baking sheet with parchment paper for easy cleanup.
- Using a long serrated knife, carefully slice the entire slab of Hawaiian rolls horizontally, separating the top from the bottom. Place the bottom half of the rolls on the prepared baking sheet.
- In a large skillet over medium-high heat, cook the ground beef, breaking it up with a spoon, until it's browned and no longer pink. Drain off any excess grease. Season with salt and pepper.
- Spread the cooked ground beef evenly over the bottom half of the rolls.
- Top the beef with the American cheese slices, making sure to cover as much of the beef as possible.
- Place the baking sheet in the preheated oven and bake for 5-7 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
- While the sliders are baking, prepare the Big Mac Special Sauce: In a medium bowl, whisk together the mayonnaise, sweet pickle relish, yellow mustard, white wine vinegar, garlic powder, onion powder, and paprika. Make sure everything is well combined. Taste and adjust seasonings as needed.
- Remove the sliders from the oven.
- Spread the Big Mac Special Sauce evenly over the top half of the rolls.
- Top the cheese-covered beef with shredded lettuce, diced onion, and pickle slices.
- Carefully place the top half of the rolls (with the sauce) onto the sliders.
- Brush the tops of the sliders with melted butter and sprinkle with sesame seeds for an extra touch of flavor and visual appeal (optional).
- Using a serrated knife, carefully slice the sliders into individual portions.
- Serve immediately.
Notes
For best results, let the Big Mac Special Sauce chill in the refrigerator for at least 30 minutes before assembling the sliders to allow the flavors to meld. Don't overcook the beef; it should be just browned. To prevent soggy buns, lightly toast the bottom half before adding the beef. Leftover sliders can be stored in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 2 days. Reheat in the oven or microwave.
