Ingredients

  • 8 oz cream cheese, softened
  • 1/2 cup sour cream
  • 1/2 cup powdered sugar
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1/2 cup caramel sauce, plus more for topping
  • 2–3 medium apples, sliced (Granny Smith or Honeycrisp)
  • 1/4 cup toffee bits (optional)
  • 1/4 cup chopped pecans or walnuts (optional)

Equipment

  • Mixing bowl
  • electric hand mixer
  • serving dish
  • knife and cutting board
  • measuring cups and spoons

Method

  1. Place the cream cheese on the counter for at least 30 minutes to soften. This ensures a smooth and creamy dip.
  2. In a large bowl, beat the softened cream cheese and sour cream with an electric mixer until smooth and creamy.
  3. Add the powdered sugar and vanilla extract. Continue beating until light and fluffy.
  4. Wash and core apples. Slice into bite-sized wedges. Optionally toss with lemon juice to prevent browning.
  5. Spread the cream cheese mixture into a shallow serving dish.
  6. Drizzle generously with caramel sauce over the top.
  7. Sprinkle with toffee bits and/or chopped nuts, if using.
  8. Serve immediately with apple slices or chill for up to 24 hours before serving.

Notes

To prevent browning, toss sliced apples in lemon juice. For a fun twist, add cinnamon, crushed toffee bits, or mini chocolate chips. This recipe can be prepped ahead — just store in the fridge until ready to serve.
