Ingredients

  • 8 oz cream cheese, softened
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar (light or dark)
  • 1/3 cup caramel sauce (plus more for topping, optional)
  • 1 tsp pure vanilla extract
  • 1/8 tsp sea salt (or to taste)

Equipment

  • Mixing bowl
  • Hand mixer or stand mixer
  • Rubber spatula
  • serving bowl or ramekin

Method

  1. Ensure cream cheese is fully softened at room temperature for easy mixing.
  2. In a mixing bowl, beat cream cheese with an electric mixer until smooth and fluffy.
  3. Add brown sugar and mix until well combined and smooth.
  4. Slowly pour in caramel sauce while beating until incorporated.
  5. Stir in vanilla extract and sea salt. Taste and adjust seasoning as needed.
  6. Serve immediately or refrigerate for up to 3 days. Top with extra caramel, nuts, or cinnamon if desired. Serve with apple slices, pretzels, or graham crackers.

Notes

Use full-fat cream cheese for best texture. Want it tangier? Increase cream cheese. For a deeper flavor, use dark brown sugar and a high-quality caramel sauce. Optional mix-ins: chopped pecans, cinnamon, or a drizzle of extra caramel on top.
