Ingredients

  • 4 cups lemonade store-bought or homemade
  • 2 cups vanilla ice cream good quality
  • Lemon wedge optional, for garnish

Equipment

  • blender
  • Measuring cups
  • Measuring spoons
  • Glasses for serving

Method

  1. Chill the lemonade in the refrigerator for at least an hour, or preferably overnight.
  2. Take the ice cream out of the freezer about 10-15 minutes before blending to soften it slightly.
  3. Pour the chilled lemonade into the blender.
  4. Add the softened vanilla ice cream to the blender.
  5. Start on low speed and gradually increase to high.
  6. Blend until the mixture is completely smooth and frothy, about 30-60 seconds. Watch for a creamy swirl to form.
  7. Check the consistency. If the Frosted Lemonade is too thick, add a little more lemonade. If it's too thin, add a little more ice cream.
  8. Pour the Frosted Lemonade into glasses and serve immediately.
  9. Garnish with a lemon wedge, if desired.

Notes

For the best results, use high-quality lemonade and vanilla ice cream. Don't over-blend the mixture, as this can cause the ice cream to melt too much. Adjust the sweetness and tartness to your liking by adding more lemonade or ice cream. If you want to make a larger batch, simply multiply the ingredients accordingly. Frosted Lemonade is best enjoyed immediately, but leftovers can be stored in the freezer for up to 30 minutes and re-blended before serving. For a boozy version, add a shot of vodka or rum to the blender.
