Ingredients

  • 8 ounces cream cheese, softened
  • 1/2 cup cranberry sauce, roughly chopped if chunky
  • 1-2 jalapenos, seeded and finely diced
  • 1/4 cup green onions, thinly sliced
  • 1 tablespoon lime juice
  • 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
  • Pinch of salt
  • Pinch of black pepper
  • Crackers, for serving
  • Tortilla chips, for serving
  • Pretzel crisps, for serving
  • Vegetable sticks, for serving
  • Toasted baguette slices, for serving

Equipment

  • medium bowl
  • Hand mixer or spoon
  • Plastic wrap
  • Serving bowl
  • knife
  • Cutting board
  • Gloves (optional, for handling jalapenos)

Method

  1. In a medium bowl, combine the softened cream cheese, chopped cranberry sauce, diced jalapenos, sliced green onions, lime juice (if using), garlic powder, salt, and pepper.
  2. Using a hand mixer or a sturdy spoon, mix all the ingredients together until well combined. Be careful not to overmix.
  3. Cover the bowl with plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes to allow the flavors to meld. You can chill it for longer, even overnight.
  4. Before serving, give the dip a good stir. Transfer it to a serving bowl and serve with your favorite dippers.

Notes

If the dip is too spicy, add a little extra cream cheese or a dollop of sour cream. If the dip is too thick, add a tablespoon or two of milk or cream until you reach your desired consistency. Leftover dip can be stored in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3-4 days. Do not freeze this dip, as the texture of the cream cheese can change.
