Method
- Brew coffee at double strength: Use twice the amount of coffee grounds you normally would for the same amount of water.
- Cool the coffee using your preferred method: Brew directly over ice, flash chill in a shaker with ice for 30 seconds, or let it cool to room temperature and refrigerate for at least an hour.
- Fill a cute glass with ice.
- Pour coffee into the glass, filling it about halfway.
- Add milk or milk alternative to taste, topping off the glass.
- Sweeten to taste with simple syrup, honey, agave, or sweetened condensed milk, starting with a small amount and adjusting to your liking.
- Add a tiny pinch of salt.
- Stir gently to combine the ingredients.
- Garnish with whipped cream, chocolate shavings, caramel drizzle, cinnamon, nutmeg, sprinkles, a sprig of mint, or a tiny paper umbrella, if desired.
- Enjoy immediately.
Notes
For a non-watery iced coffee, use coffee ice cubes made from frozen leftover coffee. You can also brew a large batch of coffee concentrate and store it in the refrigerator for up to a week. Experiment with flavors by adding vanilla extract, almond extract, or orange zest. Frothing the milk before adding it will create a more luxurious experience. Store leftover iced coffee in the refrigerator for up to 24 hours, although the flavor may diminish slightly over time.
