  • Oven
  • Measuring cups
  • Measuring spoons

Method

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Brown the ground beef in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Drain off any excess grease.
  3. Stir in the taco seasoning and water. Bring to a simmer and cook for 5-7 minutes, or until the liquid has reduced and the beef is well-seasoned.
  4. Place the taco shells in a baking dish, arranging them so they stand upright.
  5. Spoon the ground beef mixture evenly into each taco shell.
  6. Sprinkle shredded cheese over the ground beef in each taco.
  7. Bake for 8-10 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly and the taco shells are lightly browned.
  8. Remove from the oven and let cool slightly before adding your favorite toppings. Serve immediately.

Notes

To prevent soggy tacos, thoroughly drain the excess grease from the browned ground beef and create a layer of shredded cheese between the beef and the taco shell to act as a moisture barrier. Avoid overfilling the tacos for stability.
