Equipment

  • Punch bowl or pitcher
  • Glasses
  • Small plate (for rimming)
  • Lemon or lime wedge (for rimming)
  • Measuring cups
  • Spoon or ladle
  • knife
  • Cutting board

Method

  1. If desired, prepare the glasses by rimming them with pink sugar or sprinkles. Pour sugar or sprinkles onto a small plate. Wet the rim of each glass with a lemon or lime wedge, then gently dip the rim into the sugar or sprinkles, rotating until evenly coated. Set aside.
  2. In a large punch bowl or pitcher, combine the pink lemonade, ginger ale, cranberry juice, vodka (if using), and grenadine syrup.
  3. Stir gently to combine the ingredients.
  4. Add the fresh raspberries, strawberry hearts, lemon slices, and lime slices to the punch bowl.
  5. If you have time, chill the punch in the refrigerator for at least 30 minutes before serving.
  6. When ready to serve, pour the punch into the prepared glasses and garnish with additional fruit or heart-shaped candies, if desired.

Notes

Make sure all ingredients are well-chilled before mixing. Stir the punch gently to combine the ingredients. Over stirring can cause the ginger ale to lose its fizz. Consider using a large ice ring or freezing fruit in ice cubes to prevent the punch from becoming watered down. For a kid-friendly version, skip the vodka and add some colorful gummy bears or heart-shaped candies to the punch bowl. You can prepare the punch a few hours in advance and store it in the refrigerator, but wait to add the ginger ale until just before serving to prevent it from going flat. Add some lemon or lime juice to balance out the sweetness, or a little grenadine syrup or simple syrup to sweeten the punch. Add more ginger ale or club soda just before serving if the punch is flat.
