Method
- Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
- Spread the frozen fries in a single layer on a baking sheet. Use parchment paper for easier cleanup if desired.
- Sprinkle the fries with salt, pepper, garlic powder, and onion powder. Toss them lightly to ensure they're evenly coated.
- Bake the fries for 20-25 minutes, or until they are golden brown and crispy. If using an air fryer, follow the manufacturer's instructions.
- While the fries are baking, cook the bacon in a skillet over medium heat until crispy. Alternatively, you can bake the bacon in the oven for even less mess.
- Once the bacon is cooked, remove it from the skillet and let it cool slightly. Then, crumble it into small pieces.
- Chop the green onions, jalapeños, or any other toppings you're using. Have them ready to go!
- Once the fries are cooked, remove them from the oven and transfer them to a serving platter or individual plates.
- Sprinkle the shredded cheddar and Monterey Jack cheese evenly over the fries. Make sure you get a good layer of cheese on every fry!
- Sprinkle the crumbled bacon generously over the cheese.
- Place the loaded fries back in the oven for 2-3 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly. Keep a close eye on them so the cheese doesn't burn.
- Remove the loaded fries from the oven and top with sour cream, chopped green onions, jalapeños, ranch dressing, BBQ sauce, or any other toppings you desire.
- Serve immediately and enjoy!
Notes
For extra crispy fries, consider using an air fryer. Shred your own cheese for better melting. Don't overcrowd the baking sheet to ensure even cooking. Warm the serving platter in the oven briefly to keep the fries warm longer. Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 2 days and reheat in the oven for best results.
